At Bee Sweet Citrus, social and environmental sustainability are pivotal to our company’s longevity and success. Without a healthy environment, we can’t grow, pack, or ship exceptional citrus, and without a strong team, we would be unable to meet our customers’ needs.
Please read the material below to learn how sustainability influences our packing and farming operations, as well as how it positively impacts our workforce.
On the Farm:
At Bee Sweet Citrus, all our farms meet standards in GlobalG.A.P., an innovative farm assurance solutions brand built on a portfolio of standards for safe and responsible agriculture, aquaculture, and floriculture production processes. Through the GolbalG.A.P. program, we are audited to ensure we meet integrated pest management (IPM) standards. To further amplify our sustainability efforts, we use the most efficient irrigation methods to maximize water conservation, and we also make sure to utilize newer and more efficient tractors, trucks, and semis to minimize emissions.
In the Packing House:
At Bee Sweet’s packing facility, we use skylights and VFDs to conserve electricity, and most of our packaging is recyclable. We’ve also installed solar panels on our rooftops and recycle water collected from our cold storage defroster for landscaping purposes.
Social Sustainability:
Bee Sweet Citrus provides a range of health and financial services to all employees. In addition to the available healthcare plans, employees can access basic health, dental, and chiropractic services through our Wellness Partnership with local United Health Center clinics. Furthermore, employees can participate in on-site educational opportunities related to general financial planning. We also offer a 401(k) retirement plan that includes guaranteed employer matching contributions, as well as educational scholarships.
